ArtCan : Eye of the Beholder
at 508 Gallery, Kings Road, London

The phrase ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ is attributed to Irish novelist Margaret Hungerford – to describe the fact that beauty is subjective, that what appears beautiful to one person may not be beautiful to another.

This exhibition aims to celebrate how ArtCan artists capture beauty – whether that be physical beauty, natural beauty, something in between or something else entirely. The exhibition brings together a diverse & inclusive spectrum of works and creating a conversation about how societal ideals of beauty are defined, challenged and redefined. Curated by ArtCan artist & BobCat Gallery Founder Catherine Sweet, this is a small but perfectly formed show.
