Transparent as a Dragonfly

Arte Borgo Gallery and ArtCan are pleased to present their first joint exhibition! Curated by Anna Isopo, Lesley Bunch, Martina Scavone and Rita Carta Manias, “Transparent as Dragonfly” is a traveling collective show that involves 36 international artists, gathered together to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Italo Calvino’s birth.

After a first stop in Rome, from 5 to 18 October 2022 at the Arte Borgo Gallery, the exhibition will move to London, enlivening the halls of the Bermondsey Project Space from 4 to 9 March 2024.

“Transparent as a Dragonfly” will feature a series of works including paintings, sculptures, mixed media, drawings, photographs and installations inspired by “Invisible Cities” (1972), the well known book by the Italian author which investigates the power and limits of language as well as the relationship between language and memory, perception and place.

As the reader gets from the novel intimate and personal reflections, in the same way the artist lets their creativity emerge from a deep search into their inner self.
